Welcome to ER Drumline.com

The East Rochester Drumline exists to provide an exciting and educational experience in music to those students who are percussion majors, those who are new to percussion, and those who are new to instrumental music.

And to rock.

Drumline is a major part of Percussion Ensemble, a full-time, full-credit course at East Rochester High School that was split six years ago from the high school band. In addition to working as the Drumline, we study a number of other areas in the field of percussion including concert percussion, mallets, drumset, and ethnic drumming styles. Selected students learn concert band percussion parts and rehearse and perform with the Wind Ensemble. The Drumline currently marches 5 snares, 2 tenors (quints), 4 basses, and 4 cymbals.

Let me make this clear: Percussion Ensemble does a whole lot of stuff in addition to marching as the drumline.

Here's a great story...

Click on the photo below to hear the Percussion Ensemble perform our arrangement of Rondo Alla Turca on Orff xylophones at the 2006 concert celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth. Yes it's a couple of years old. It's from, like, before Twitter. But I still like it.
